The days may be getting cooler and shorter, but we’ve got the perfect remedy for beating the post-summertime blues: fall RV camping! There are so many reasons why we love fall camping in BC, and here in Chilliwack there are plenty of family-friendly campgrounds that stay open 365-days a year.
The cooler temperatures can make outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking and horseback riding a lot more comfortable (the peak of summer in Chilliwack can be so overwhelmingly hot!), and our unique location keeps us shielded from a lot of the nasty weather that the rest of Canada experiences in the fall and winter. There are also far less people at parks and beaches, (you can finally pick the best site at the campground!), and campsite rentals are typically cheaper due to “off-season” pricing. Located just off the Lickman Road exit outside of Chilliwack, this quiet RV park is nestled between the Fraser River and Cascade Mountains, offering fishing, hiking, boating, excellent animal-watching and more. The campground has full hookups, a modern bathroom with laundry, and other nice-to-have amenities like free wifi, dining options and a rec centre!

3. Acacia Grove RV Park. Head north along the Trans-Canada Highway just a few hours to Acacia Grove in Spences Bridge, BC. Overlooking the Thompson River, there is no shortage of family-friendly outdoor activities, including beaches, hiking and white water rafting. Full hookups, plenty of amenities and both cabins and RV sites make this all-season campground well worth the road trip!
